The fully rounded body of the AustriAlpin HMS RONDO GI allows smooth rope movement, even friction, and prevents the creation of sharp edges, providing a longer lifespan.
The GI version adds a red safety band on the gate, providing a simple and clear visual aid to identify whether the screwgate has been locked.
The gate features a corrosion-resistant brass sleeve which is milled with a special self-cleaning thread that helps remove dirt and grit each time it is opened and closed.
Each HMS RONDO GI also includes a unique identification number laser-etched on the spine.
Note: The nose of HMS RONDO is thicker than some other carabiners and can require a firm push and some wiggling when installing a descender with a rubber o-ring.
It will fit the following descenders: Critr, Sqwurel, Element, Pivot, Hoodoo, ATS, Hannibal, Hydrobot and MiniEight. It does not fit the Oka.
AustriAlpin recommends its use with the No.Mad, however this is a particularly tight fit and does require a firm push and wiggling to get on. Once connected it is extremely secure.
Key advantages:
- round profile for smooth rope movement and longer lifespan
- red band provides visual warning of unlocked gate
