The HMS RONDO is ideally suited for use with canyoning descenders. The smooth round shape provides even friction and prevents the formation of sharp edges.

The fully rounded body of the AustriAlpin HMS RONDO ID 3-way autolock allows smooth rope movement, even friction, and prevents the creation of sharp edges, providing a longer lifespan.

The 3-way autolock gate is extremely secure and almost impossible to accidentally open, yet still easy enough to operate with one hand, even wearing gloves. The sleeve is highly textured, making it easy to grip even wearing gloves. Simply lift it up, twist, then push the gate open. Once released the gate automatically snaps shut and securely locks.

Each HMS RONDO ID 3-way autolock also includes a unique identification number laser-etched on the spine.

Note: The nose of HMS RONDO is thicker than some other carabiners and can require a firm push and some wiggling when installing a descender with a rubber o-ring.

It will fit the following descenders: Critr, Sqwurel, Element, Pivot, Hoodoo, ATS, Hannibal, Hydrobot and MiniEight. It does not fit the Oka.

AustriAlpin recommends its use with the No.Mad, however this is a particularly tight fit and does require a firm push and wiggling to get on. Once connected it is extremely secure.

Key advantages:

  • round profile for smooth rope movement and longer lifespan
  • 3-way autolock is extremely secure while still easy to open
  • autolock gate snaps shut and securely locks
